Traducimos por \u00abPC\u00bb la abreviatura \u00abCP\u00bb, interpretando que es \u00abCommunist Party\u00bb (como pensamos que es la intenci\u00f3n del autor).<\/p>\n<p>2. No se puede mantener en la traducci\u00f3n la polisemia de la frase \u00abafter the party is over\u00bb, que significa tambi\u00e9n \u00abcuando se acabe la fiesta\u00bb (\u00abparty\u00bb es tanto \u00abfiesta\u00bb como \u00abpartido\u00bb).<\/p>\n<p>3. Tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser \u00abgu\u00e1rdate una bomba para las banderas de la Uni\u00f3n\u00bb. \u00abunion flags\u00bb lo traducimos por \u00abbanderas de la Uni\u00f3n\u00bb: se entiende, de la Gran Breta\u00f1a (la \u00abUnion Jack\u00bb)<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00abWeather\u00bb = \u00abtiempo\u00bb en el sentido meteorol\u00f3gico, no el tiempo cronol\u00f3gico<\/p>\n<p>5. \u00abFellahin\u00bb, plural de \u00abfellah\u00bb, palabra de origen \u00e1rabe que designa a los agricultores o campesinos en el Oriente Medio<\/p>\n<p>6. Por el sentido del texto que sigue, traducimos \u00abLeft on man\u00bb como \u00abA decisi\u00f3n del hombre\u00bb (o \u00abDejado a decisi\u00f3n del hombre\u00bb); \u00ableft\u00bb no es s\u00f3lo el participio de \u00ableave\u00bb (dejar), significado en que se basa nuestra traducci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n \u00abizquierda\u00bb, con lo que el juego de palabras que puede haber en el t\u00edtulo se pierde en castellano.<\/p>\n<p>7. \u00ab\u00fcber alles\u00bb, alem\u00e1n en el original, significa en castellano \u00abpor encima de cualquier cosa\u00bb. La referencia es obviamente al \u00abDeutschland, Deutschland \u00fcber alles\u00bb, frase de la estrofa inicial de la \u00abDeutschlandlied\u00bb de Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1841), poema adoptado como letra del himno alem\u00e1n en 1922. Por su f\u00e1cil interpretaci\u00f3n imperialista, la estrofa que contiene esa frase fue eliminada del himno alem\u00e1n oficial despu\u00e9s de 1945, al haber quedado te\u00f1ida con esa significaci\u00f3n supremacista durante el hitlerismo. Todos los nost\u00e1lgicos del nazismo, en todo el mundo, siguen cant\u00e1ndola.
